- About Me and My Photography Experience:
- Learned photography in college as a core course for my journalism major and took many pictures (film) for a weekly newspaper a year out of college.
Fast-forward to 2002, after many years of very little shooting: Bought a Canon Rebel film body and, soon afterward, first-generation Digital Rebel (300D) and, later, 30D. Now shooting much more than I ever did -- to help provide content to a family Web site, to feed a general-interest photo blog (www.photopotpourri.blogspot.com) ... and for the sheer pleasure of it. Recently had images displayed in a local art gallery as part of a photography group display and soon will have additional images included in a local public library exhibit depicting a local neighborhood in pictures.
- My Photography Equipment:
- Bodies: Canon 30D, Canon Digital Rebel (300D), Canon Rebel (film), Pentax Optio Z10.
Assorted Canon, Sigma and Tamron lenses; Slik tripod; Benro monopod; Canon 580EX II and 480EX flashes; Tiffen UV, polarizing, warming, neutral density and graduated density filters.

Thanks for your comment on my 'yellow' image, that's exactly what I was working towards.
In a few weeks, we're putting on another workshop there, and this time we get to take the students inside - I've got mixed feelings about it, kinda spooky, but it should still be fun.

- Hey Joe...thanks again...I like the 10-20...offers a great lens for landscapes and for frames where you want to `create' interest. Downside is that there is a lot of distortion at the wide end. As far bang for buck goes, I think it is top of the pops in this range. I feel its better than the Tamron as well as the Tokina. But have a look at the new version of this Sigma, the constant 3.5 with the HSM motor. That seems to be even better than this one. I would recommend my lens highly, but feel the newer one would be more useful to me now.
