Gday juinita,
for my self i would say have the man closer to the food and bring the leaf cups into focus with the man,
plus lighten up the left hand side of the face.

I'm sorry Mark but I think your adjustments to this photo bring to the front why photography is such a subjective matter, like most art. I think these adjustments are to much and just make the photo look 'flat'. The lighting…

The colour's are lovely from the tie, would like the leaf cups to be more in focus and the features of the mans face to be highlighted to see his expression which would give more to the nature of the shot and the story as Sampy said…

Hi Juinita, the picture as such is good... this is what i feel... see every moment is captured through the lens but certainly with the photographers eye... so true justice wud be when the photographer captions the pic especially when the pic…

To make people shots more natural you shouldn't be a photographer there, just be one of them :-) Talk to them first, joke a bit maybe heheh. When they're relaxed the photos will be way better, trust me ;-) Or you can just stay there for a while just doing shots at random stuff until they ignore your presence, then you'll get more chance to capture candid shots. Have fun! ;-D

- Thanks for the comments! About the people shots, I often use a 50mm lens for those, Juinita. So yes, you have to get close to the subjects. Nope, no rejection, especially when you shoot in South East Asian countries, usually they just smile ;-)
