If you are thinking about doing weddings and things of the such, I would look into the Canon 85mm f/1.2L Series lense. It is a very good lense even though it is really expensive. If you do not want to spend that much loo into the Canon 85mm 1.8…

I was excited for how well the images turned out - considering hardly once did they sit still for me to even focus my camera...ha - gotta love kids!

Yes, the 85 1.8 is a good'un. Unfortunately, Canon does not have a fifty-mm like it; the 50 1.8 is cheap and nasty, the 1.4 is not so cheap but still kind of nasty, the 1.2L is expensive, huge and specialized, just like the 85 f/1.2L. A Sigma 50mm f/1.4 may be the ticket though, although there are some quality control issues with Sigma in general as well as the potential for future incompatibility headaches.

My bad! I first overlooked the 20D line of your entry, and then I corrected my comment to give concrete advice about a lens :)

Hey there, your images look great. I have had a studio for 6 years now, only really use manual sparingly. I figured I have a D2X that is smarter than I am let it decide on particulars and I will do composition and manual if I need too. Do you use Lightroom?

Hey Kari, nice shots on the weddings, one suggestion I would toss out is to not worry so much about the photography end of learning (you got a eye already) but learn all you can about the business and marketing. Just my 2cents

A nice capture, Amanda! (Although I would make my watermark a bit smaller, in my humble opinion.)
