Yeah the location is great, would be nicer if it wasnt so dark out though (once again ill complain about how pitch black it was). And also i dont have any other flash other than the one on my camera (fuji finepix s2000hd). Still only learning so sti…

I think the pose looks good, maybe trying off camera flash rather than 'straight on' would look more creative, cool location tho.

Thanks for all the great comments, they really help. And the tissue over the flash, great idea, will use that next time :D thank you

In a pinch, you can easily soften the harsh light of a flash by simply taking a white handkerchief (or tissue) and putting it over the face of the flash. The material will diffuse the lightenough to markedly reduce (if not eliminate) those harsh sha…

You've done a good job of eleminating foreground which is the curse of flash. There r many attachments for your flash. Canon flashes have a built-in diffuser and bouncer. I happen to like the "Fong Dome" which really softens flash. Another plus for…

Perhaps so?
October 19, 2009
Yeah it was just pitch black by the time this shot was taken! I tried to soften it a bit with gaussian blur, so it doesnt look at harsh as the original
October 19, 2009
I am seeing a lot of flash in her face and shadows around the edges of her which tells me that your flash was to harsh. Nice location though =)

I think the same about going out with someone else who is into it, also you can compare each others and see how diffrent you see things.

That takes some really nice shots. I am using a canon eos400d. like you am looking to upgrade to a 50d but i am afraid the credit card bill comes first and when that hits £0 i think a new camrea is on its way to me :)
How often do you go out taking photos? Do you know other people that are into it?

Yeah that isnt a bad idea i thought about doing a boot sale with some of mine but never thought they was good enough at the time. You should do a eveing course they are good fun and did learn abit alot i learned from mags. What camrea do you use?

HI ya thanks for the comment on the water. I did get that one put on canvas and someone bought it from me at work which is good. Ireland must have loads of good places i would love to go there and take some photos. I would like to get into potraits but no one will pose for me. There are a few places you can goto that has proper studios and models i have not wanted to do that though.
I have been doing it for about a 18 months but only just really got into it properly after taken a evening course. I have booked up on some more courses which start in jan cant wait for that.

Your welcome. Indian... At least the "killer eyes" portion of my comment was correct! I hope to follow your path in photography. Thanks for sharing in PictureSocial!

Nice photos! You capture great cat images -- your empathy for your subject shows! I have spent my life in the sub-tropics or Asia but your pics make me want to check out traveling to Ireland!
