About Me and My Photography Experience:
As a photographer, I am still a beginner with a lot ot learn. I received my Nikon D40 as a Christmas gift a little over a year ago. With little to no experience in photography, I decided to give myself a year to simply get aquainted with my new camera. I had plenty of time on my hands, due to the fact that I had been laid off of my job and I went out as often as possible and took tons of photos, mainly relying on the preset settings of my camera (potrait, landscape, etc.). Now that I have some experience under my belt, I am working on learning more of the technical aspects of photography so I can take more creative control of my shots, being able to shoot in less than ideal situations and move out of the preset settings.

In terms of subject matter, I love shooting portraits. I particularly enjoy photographing children, actors, artists and musicians, and people dressed, particularly those at renaissance faires, historic reeactments, or cultural events. I also enjoy taking photos at local gardens and arboretums, lighthouses, and at a wide variety of fairs and festivals.

My other interests include: knitting, beading / jewelry making, reading, music and musical theater.

Hi Kerry and welcome! I am fairly new to the digital myself and received my D40x as a early anniversary gift last February. I like your photographs and was wondering what extension tubes do you use? I have been wondering what to go with but havn't taken that step yet.

A nice capture, Amanda! (Although I would make my watermark a bit smaller, in my humble opinion.)
