I am back

I have not been on here for quite some time. My life all of a sudden caught up with me! I have not had much time for photography these days. Even though I was busying myself with photography related things as well as family and a 3 week trip to Italy which was awesome, I haven't used my camera much.
While I was in Italy for 3 weeks I did get the chance to take lots of shots. It was amazing, but I find it incredible how I tote that heavy camera and equipment around on my small frame… Continue

Santa was generous this year

I have figured that I must be one really good girl. Last year for Christmas, Santa brought me my first DSLR, a Canon EOS 40D which came with a kit lens, a 17-85mm IS USM lens. Not too shabby I say!
In the course of a year I have become even more addicted to photography, focusing on trying to understand the technical aspect of the art (but no closer to understanding). I also acquired 2 other lenses and a couple filters, lens hood and Photoshop CS3 among other lesser photo editing… Continue

I love photographing children especially my grandkids so I joined your group with the hope of gaining inspiration and pointers. But, I don't take advantage of it often bc I find that the setup of an ongoing thread is confusing and somewhat difficult to follow.
Any suggestions for utilizing your group better?
