I work for a newspaper and took the following pictures. The first is from a church feature that I did about an upcoming praise chapel band. Instead of having the guy play the piano I shot from inside the piano. I thought it offered a different perspective.
The second shot is from a rollarskating rink article I wrote. I initially took a picture of this family standing inside their rink - which is quite large - before spying the rollar skates. I got down on the ground and shot upward.…

I grew up on a farm but it's taken me most of my life to see the art and symmetry of farm equipment such as tractors. But only a "photographer farm girl" would notice the groves and ridges on a large tractor tire. For some reason it just grabbed my attention. And also I shot a photo of a line of tractors. lucky shot

I was taking pictures of my granddaughter with one of my Polish Chickens (yes there is such a creature) and as I was putting my camera down I happened to still take a picture. This shot http://www.picturesocial.com/photo/grandbaby-with-chicken-1?context=latest is what resulted. A very lucky accident if you ask me. I'd appreciate any input - good or bad.
Crash and burn

I work for a newspaper and recently reported on a head-on collision. One car was engulfed in flames and - no offense to anyone; I know it sounds warped - but I was amazed at what the car looked like after it was nearly destroyed by fire. In some of the shots I took, it looked the car had once been a living organisim. And I was amazed at the - for lack of a better word and once again no offense - the "art that resulted" from the fire. - after all the creative machinations that some photographers go thru to get a weird photo, u got lucky. good job recognizing it. I've found that the best pics are just being at the right place at the right time. good is not that hard. better requires not much more effort, but best is mostly good luck and timing. now many will write long letters of protest about this statement, but that's my humble opinion. u no, like the bug sitting on the alligators head when u shot it, and u just happen to get a photo of a giraffe baby doing a back flip when up put ur camera on continuous or shot in sports mode.......that's what I mean......I have a few but nothing outstanding actually. the more I shoot the better cance I have I think.
