I have Noiseware Pro. I don't use it very often, and prefer a light touch; I dislike the plastic, over-noise-reduced look more than I dislike noise.

This is an amazing image at ISO 6400. Did you use a noise reduction program separate from Photoshop? Great work!

hi, i shot the austin nightclub scene for a couple of years. i found that shooting a high ISO, leave room for blur/or not with the timing, yielded excellent results for me. my feeling was that a very static shot of the austin muicians did not…

High ISO, fast lenses, manual exposure, raw. Don't be afraid of high ISO. For all the talk of noise my Canon DSLRs are super clean at ISO 3200 compared to any high speed film I ever used. f/2.8 is often barely enough. Consider getting some…

Can anyone give me tips when photographing bands in low light areas, with coloured lights too. It's the lights, usually red or green that usually mess me up when taking photos. Thanks.See More

Hello Liz and Welcome to PictureSocial. Hope you find it an enjoyable place that you can learn and maybe teach others. We do have a Canon User Group. If you are interested, you can find it under the "Groups" tab at the top of the page. Hope to see you there.

Hello there and welcome to PictureSocial.com, a network of photographers. I'm glad that you've joined and it's time to be in the crazy world of photography! In this site, you'll find photographs which come from beginners, amateur and professional photographers and I must say that all of them do some amazing work. I'd also want to invite you to join groups here such as Nikon Users Group, Canon Users Group, Live PictureSocial Chat Group and Pixel Induced Group(an all around group) and joining these groups can help improve your knowledge in photography. You can start discussions, comment on pictures, and share some of your advice, criticism and experiences in the forum, and I'm pretty sure you'll get positive feedbacks from a lot of nice people here around. I hope you'll enjoy it here!

Cheers!
Maeda
