Like white flowers, yellow flowers can get blown out too. Try using your camera's histrogram setting, if you have that setting, or use a faster shutter speed to diminish the refective light entering the camera.

For me, white flowers are more challenging to shoot, if I don't use a light meter. A camera's meter would work too, if spot metered.
