Hello Mehryar, Sorry it took a while for me to get to your photos. The black and white is excellent, especially when viewed full screen. You do have beautiful fall color in Canada. My wife and I were in British Columbia in September a few years ago and the landscape was beautiful. Keep shooting and try a few close up of some of your beautiful trees.
Best regards,
Dan

Hi Mehryar, you have certainly captured the excitement of the rodeo. On a personal level; the colour images are the more appealing to me and i would suggest using a wider aperture to blur the background slightly more (eg, f4 instead of f8) as this would make the subject really stand out!. You have some interesting and impressive images here. Steve.

Turn off continous shooting and shoot single frames and pick your shots.
Turn off the display on the back of the camera, this will speed up saving the images, even when you are shooting continous and saves battery too.
Look at them after you shoot when you have time in between shots.

Well like I said, you've got a good eye for the right moment. I shoot mostly in color.
20 years ago I carried 2 cameras. One B&W & one color. Not now though.
How many frames are you shooting to get the one good one you are showing us? Just one or on continuious? Pick the moments and shoot just one, and you'll get better composition.
Too much contrast in the B&W, lighten them up.
Work on your composition.

The contrast in your B&W shots seems a bit much.
I'd have shot the whole rodeo in color.

I am not an HDR afficianado so I can't recommend. Just Go to Google and type in HDR software. There are hundreds of options.

Mehryar. You aksed what HDR is. It is the combining of two or more images into one to effectively extend the available contrast range of your photograph. For instance if you make a photograph of a landscape many times the land looks great but the sky has no detail, but you know it was there in the original scene. HDR is an automated or semi-automated program that allows you to combine several images made at different exposure settings to get one image that contains the best of all worlds into an image that is more or less what your eye sees.
