About Me and My Photography Experience:
The first time I picked up a camera with the intent to take "beautiful" pictures I was 15. I still remember my amazement and hunger I felt to know, to become a part of, the old Canon my parents had passed down to me.

By age 17, I had just graduated and knew exactly what I was going to do. Be a photographer. I majored in photography at a school 45 minutes from my home town. Some professors were fabulous and were [and still are] truly inspirational to me. With all good comes bad though and some professors were over bearing and forceful with their own style of photography. Unwilling to teach you to become your own style.

I struggled furiously in the technical department. There was only one studio, shared by about 45-50 students and time dedicated for students learning was scheduling scarcely due to ratio, we all needed the experience.

In early 2003, during the last semester of my first year in college I was encouraged by the photojournalism teacher to apply at my local newspaper for a job photographing "spot" news. I was scheduled an interview and hired on two weeks later. I was also assigned my own editors, which really assisted me with future contacts and clients, as well as my first school related job experience.

I recently opened a studio, my first, I refer to it as "my sanctuary". I still struggle immensely with lighting and have been doing as much research on-line to fill in the gaps but just reading is one thing and actually understanding what it means is another.

My business is growing very quickly, almost tripling in some areas just in the past six months. I hope to continue to grow and learn with time.
My Photography Equipment:
Canon Rebel T1i [and LOVE it!]

"Hi Guys, Is it safe to say that AF-S 55-200mm f4-5.6G IF-ED DX VR enough for events such as weddings, birthdays and portraiture?  There are reviews that the 55-300mm has problem in focusing at 300mm focal length."
