"You have the horizon on center and no clear subject. Those are two of the things that will ding people who are awe inspired by the scene in front of them and want to capture it. Placing the horizon at 1/3 up or down will define where the subject is…"
"It's a snapshot that's just too busy. Nothing wrong with having something to remember the occasion by, but there's significantly more value to it as a personal memory than as an expression artistically or esthetically. I would think…"
In this first image I did not notice that she had rotated her head slightly after I set up the shot and before I took the exposure. The resulting DoF shift actually works with the unsettling theme but I think it may be a bit too subtle a theme and a bit too much of a screw up with the DoF. I preach attention to detail only because it has burned me so many times. What else do you see wrong with it?In this next one, again it is attention to detail. ""Even the most avant gard musician has his roots in basic technique"...exactly. If you don't allow yourself to progress but rather compare your early work to a master, how many can accept that and be comfortable with moving on toward…"
"We have very different ways of looking at this, you and I. You can learn the technique, but not the art. You can study for the sake of technical study, and you should, but I can't see the value in comparison. Using someone else's work to…"

"I think it works but the colors are a bit washed out and the right subject should probably be a bit more in frame. Personally I think that finding a more interesting building would be a better use of time than PSing the power lines but as for your…"
"Well, there seems to be a blur line left by editing on her right side, perhaps to remove an unintended portion of the shot (a bit more breast exposed than she wanted, for example) and the backdrop is wrinkled and well in the DOF range. Also, there…"
"Well, everything has been pretty well covered but I have to chime in that on the first one I found myself laughing with the thought that she is walking into the Little Shop of Horrors and that plant is going to eat her. :)"
"Awwww....who's a good boy?! Very sweet. There are some technical issues like the soft focus because your exposure seems to be too long and the head on angle that results in his tail extending from his head and that it's a bulls-eye shot…"
