The coyote ,Canis latrans, is one of the seven representatives of the Canidae family found in Canada. Other members of the family are the wolf, red fox, arctic fox, grey fox, swift fox, and dog. Slimmer and smaller than the wolf, the coyote’s ears are wide, pointed, and erect. It has a tapering muzzle and a black nose. Unlike most dogs, the top of the muzzle on coyotes forms an almost continuous line with the forehead. The yellow, slightly slanting eyes, with their black round pupils, give the coyote a characteristic expression of cunning. The canine, or pointed, teeth are remarkably long and can inflict serious wounds. The neck is well furred and looks oversized for the body.

Lynx Closeup 2

This is a female Lynx I relaxing in the snow. Canada lynx are easily recognizable cats with their black ear tufts, flared facial ruff, and very short tail. They can only be confused with the closely related bobcat Lynx rufus in the southern part of their range, however, a close look reveals a number of differences. The lynx has longer legs and broader footpads for walking in deep snow. Their ear tufts are longer, and the facial ruff is more developed. Their tail has a black tip, while the bobcat’s is more striped and white underneath. These two cat species seem to have divided the continent up between them, with the lynx in the northern forests and the bobcat being limited by snow depth to southern Canada, and through to Central Mexico.

The wolf is the ancestor of the domestic dog but instead of barking, it howls. Only wolf pups make a high-pitched bark. Timber wolves that live in northern regions tend to be much heavier than those found further south.

About Me and My Photography Experience:
I take pictures for a hobby and I find it to be a fun way to see new places and things and meet new people. I love experimenting with colors and textures- anything from patterns in wood to textures in a city sidewalk.
My Photography Equipment:
I've just recently gotten into digital photography seriously with my friends Olympus E-330 and my E-410. Before that I was using a Chinon 35mm film camera, an Olympus C-7000z/C-70z compact digital camera, and a Sony DSC-P93 compact digital camera.

Does more Expensive mean it's a better camera?

Posted on November 6, 2008 at 8:31pm 6 Comments

I own an Olympus E-410 SLR, a C-7000, and a Sony DSC-P93. The C-7000 and P93 were in the 300-500$ range and the E-410 was around 750$. I know people who have 2000$+ Nikons and 3000$ Canons and their cameras have basically the same Mp value (or less) and image quality as mine do.(I know some of you won't agree with this.:))
Nikon are very nice cameras, but rather big and heavy. I love the shape of the Canons top, but they seem to be a bit on the heavy side too. What do you think?

Altered or unaltered...that is the question.

Posted on May 31, 2008 at 10:06pm 14 Comments

Some people alter their digital images and some leave them "as is". Which is more popular altered or not? Which is better? Some people alter each and every image they post and some don't alter anything at all.
Personally, I mostly tend to crop my images but leave the rest "as is" for the most part tho I do post some altered images from time to time.
