Hi Yatin You need to use a single central AF point and keep that on the bird shutterspeed needs to be at least 320 sec and App 5.6 you can take the difference out of the ISO with practice you can get the app down to 2.8 to blow out the backgrounds…

Hi Yatin Good Evening how are you, I have no good answer for your questions sorry about that, I have a camera but I don’t have a L lens so no idea about how to use it, all I can tell you is jus go to the canon group and read every thing about your camera and your lens which you have so that you will get an idea, and spend some more time with your camera take more pictures as much as you can in a day so that you can know more about your camera and start writing down the settings in a not book with the picture number you have taken, so you will come more familiar with the settings in your camera, and how it works, also don’t keep your manual inside keep it with you always and read it fully so that you will know more about your camera also, get help from all sources like u-tube, Google etc, also I don’t have a photographic background I learned everything by taking more pictures ok practice only, I use to take at least 500pictures a day in a single location, and keep all the old pictures you took it will show you how much you improved and where you are now,
yatin. you have the ideal lens so it wants fotografial, you must put your chamber in iso fast like 400 and 600, of speed, lla opening of the lens between F/8 y11 and to put them approach point that to you all when focusing work, you recomindo that also which you buy a duplicator of 1.4x, practices with slow birds in its lame flight so that experience,
Hi Yatin You need to use a single central AF point and keep that on the bird shutterspeed needs to be at least 320 sec and App 5.6 you can take the difference out of the ISO with practice you can get the app down to 2.8 to blow out the backgrounds more but this need pinpoint accuracy .If you struggle on 5.6 move the App to an even higher than 5.6 The other problem you may be having is with stability With a lens on 400 it will take a very steady hand not to have camera shake Idealy you need to be on a tripod with that size lens but that can make it hard with wildlife I use a monopd that gives more flexability Hope this helps good luck David
Hi, great for taking telephoto pictures of birds, you buy your sujiero doubling the distance, I have many friends who have it and are very happy with the results achieved !!!!!
I cannot really suggest. It all depends on you butget and also how comfortable you are with the lens ie., i mean how you fell about the lense. Just go across to the cannon show roomand try your hands on the lenses in display and select the one which makes you feel the best. personally if i were in your position i would first upgrade to a full frame like the 5D try it on for an year or so and then think of getting more lenses if need be.the yearning for bigger lense is a trap be careful.
This issue is called crop factor. A full frame sensor has the same physical size as that of a 35mm film ie., a single exposure/ shot. Sensors which are less than this have a crop factor. this has a direct bearing on the lense. there are lots of article published on the net on crop factor by professional photographers. pl read them. also read the reviews on eos 50D.

Mr Yatin,
hello. you were asking about the 100-400 f 4-5.6 l is usm lense.
This lense is from the L series of canon which are the best lenses produced by canon. They incorporate the best technology. it has a florite crystal lense element in it. plus it has image stabilisation also. the literature can be found on canon website. But it is also, belive me when i say ,is the most stupid lense in the canon L series. I have one. the images tend to be soft when the aperture is fully open. you have to step down to f8 for better pictures. In fact this is the only lense in the L series where i am unable to understan why canon has not taken out an upgrade despite the feedback on the soft image at full aperture. you say that you are using a 50D ie., a 1.6 crop. If you are planning on investing in this lense my advice is don'nt. Instead teke a 400 L is usm prime lense which is far better in performance. Secondly your 50D has a 1.6 crop. i would actually advise you to try the 75-300 f 4-5.6 lense. people call it a cheap lense. yes its about 9K but with your 50D it will be 120-480 f 4-5.6 that is great. plus it gives razor sharp images at all apertures, very light and allows hand held shooting. In fact i love my 75-300 and most of my wildlife shots are taken with it. if you load a 100-400 on your 50D these are the parameters. the lense is heavy and hense difficult to hold for long. you have to have an aperture of f 8 for sharp pictures. your shutter speed is not less than 1/700 and you cannot go beyond iso of 600. if you are planning for wildlife then you are in a stick ground with the 100-400 sinse your subject will give you a vey short window of time to click them.
