"I was playing around for the most plart and was just learning how to make a shot like this.I used an 8 second exposure time in the shutter speed to get the streaks of light from the cars, f/22 aparture setting to get the star patterns in the street…"
"I actaully have to agree with Robert despite what I said before, Yes you can learn as you go or you can do what Robert is suggesting and get the knowledge before hand so when you get your hands on the equipment you already know exactly what you are…"
Well to be modest, I am a Rookie photographer. Fast learning, but still a Rookie. With my current camera I've been taking photos since mid January of 2011, and have been teaching my self ever since as well getting pointers from my older sister (a graduate film student) in order to get better and better shots. each time I shoot.
Any chance I get i'm taking photos of something or if not that analyzing the world around me trying to determine what could i do to get an interesting shot from a seemingly boring landscape or object.
My strengths seems to be in landscape photography especially during night shooting, however 6 1/2 months straight of getting shots of buildings and scenes in the same areas in the same city is starting to get boring. I would love to expand upon my skills by starting to incorporate people into my shots to add dimension and interest in my photos, and would like to do shots of people entirely. As well as getting more into event photography.
Something to mix it up to keep me from going stale and sloppy
Seriously even though you know how to get the best shots you can't help but get a little boring with your work after a while if you keep doing the same things, in the same areas, under the same conditions (clear skies)
I'm still learning photography and I love it, each mistake brings me closer to doing something new and magnificent so their is no way that i'm going to stop, I'm just going to get better and better.
My Photography Equipment:
Currently using a Canon Rebel T2i equipped with 1 18-55mm lens, 1 55-250mm len, (both using UV filters), plus 1 50mm prime lens.
Hello Nolan and Welcome to PictureSocial. Hope you find it an enjoyable place that you can learn and maybe teach others. We do have a Canon User Group. If you are interested, you can find it under the "Groups" tab at the top of the page. Hope to see you there.
