"If you want to save some cash, check the D7000. Also I am to understand that a D7100 is soon to come out. These are not full frame but have an excellent rating."

Paul Barkevich replied to Renata Contini's discussion please comment in the group Photo Criticism
"Briefly Renata, i think it's a bit washed out. Much of this can be corrected in software by adding some contrast and up the blacks. Her eyes being closed is another issue. Just these few things would make a big difference."

Paul Barkevich replied to JP Parmley's discussion Your thoughts on my first HDR images in the group Photo Criticism
"Reg is right about the washed out look. That can work at times. I think a boost in the contrast will help. Try the burn and the contrast. Paul"

Paul Barkevich replied to Shelby Lasley's discussion any good? opinions please :) in the group Photo Criticism
"Got to go with Eric on this one. I don't believe he was harsh. It's an honest critique that she asked for. How you going to learn if everything you do is said to be good. This will help her move forward with photography. Paul"

Paul Barkevich replied to Jeniver Agbayani's discussion cinderella in the group Photo Criticism
"To me the angle is fine, but at this angle you do not have enough light on the model. I think some croping would help, too much dead space on the right. Last, the photo is too soft."

Paul Barkevich replied to JoAnna LeMaster McIntosh's discussion Experimentation w Photoshop Techniques Thoughts? in the group Photo Criticism
"It's too far out of focus for a sharpener to do a good job. I think you have done about all you can. Next time take the shot with the aperture set to 5.6 to 16. You may have to slow the shutter speed and use something to steady the camera."
