Hi Paul. Thanks for being friend. I like your stuffs.
Hi Paul, I had the opportunity to look at your photos. The composition of the photos is fantastic. You do have a photographers eye...
I can see that you are still developing skills around getting the exposure and metering. Also, I see some areas of improvement on post-processing your photos..
My favourite photo is .. photo number 2...
My honest and constructive feedback on the rest of the photos is -
photo 1 - I am assuming that your primary subject is the lighthouse and secondary, the sky. If that's the case then the lighthouse comes across really dark. The photo seems to have been taken around sunset and the colours of the horizon look beautiful but limited. If I was you, I would have got up a meter of so to get the horizon in frame but still have the bush in front. And, I would have exposed for longer to get the reflection of sunset light off the lighthouse's left edge. I would also use a nd filter (0.6, I think) to neutralise the bright sky behind the lighthouse.
photo 4 - Absolutely great composition with the wooden track guiding the viewers eye to the lighthouse. Well done! I think you used long exposure... wonder if you had any filter on for the shot.. Looking at the clouds, I am guessing the exposure to be around less then 3rd of a sec. I would have expected more light eventhough you were on the shadow side of the lighthouse. Don't hesitate to shoot directly into the light. In fact, that's the best way of photographing, i.e. to have the subject lit up from behind with natural light.
Hope my comments help. I look forward to seeing more photos from you soon.
