"Good points Angie and just silly!  The E-5 is the pro camera and the E-M5 serious hobbyist as you mentioned.  I love my E-5, and have heavily invested in my lenses, 35-100 f/2.0 SHG, 12-60 f/2.8 SWD, 50-200 SWD and 50mm f/2 macro and they…"

Thanks for all the info and links; I loved the wrotniak one because it helped with some of my settings that I wasn't sure of.  I already own the E-30, so am familiar with the lay out to some degree of the E-5, which appears similar.  Really like the copywright option.  Can hardly wait to get the new lens (35-100mm) and also invested in a new Lowepro camera bag on wheels.  Was using their backpack for several years and it was wonderful but since I would like to take both the E-30 and E-5 in addition to all of my lenses, finding it a bit too heavy, and need more room for it all.  The wheel feature of the Lowepro will let me walk around for several hours on a photoshoot and not have to lug all that equipment on my back.  It even has a place to attach the tripod and the extendable handle can also serve as a place to stabilize the camera if needed.

Hi Rick; Just wanted to update you re. E-5 and lenses.  The E-5 arrived yesterday; have been working so no time to do much with it besides basic set up.  Found the 35-100mm SHG lens on line refurbished by Olympus for $1,645.00 which seemed like a decent deal.  I didn't buy from Oly direct though, so hope it will all work out.  Can hardly wait to try it with the new E-5.  I don't do much in the way of portraits, like you do, with exception of pets.  Most of my stuff is nature photography but after seeing your pics of the owls, just loved the clarity of the feathers and eyes that you've captured.

Thanks again for all your input and info.  Andrea

Hi Rick;  I was just looking at your portfolio and am impressed with the work that you do.  I have been using the E-510, E-30 and recently ordered the E-5 (supposed to be delivered tomorrow) and my lenses are the 12-60mmSWD, 50-200mm (non SWD), 50mm, 35mm, and 70-300mm.  Am wondering if the 35-100mm lens would be a good investment.  I guess my main question is: "What can that lens do that my others can't?"  Or is it mainly in terms of resolution and picture quality that the SHG lenses offer.
