Assignment is "The Dark Side of Photography, Shadows."

This week the assignment is shadows. You'll seek out and photograph shadows, not what makes the shadow but merely the shadow. Show us the shadow only, not what makes it, this will keep everyone focused on the subject. Be creative in how you position the shadow so as to get edges that are clear and clean. You can do indoor and out-door shadows even shadows with color. For those who missed last nights class due to the weather, be cognizant of the F-stop to keep as much of the shadow in focus as…See More

Profile Information

About Me and My Photography Experience:
Love photography, been doing it for over half a century. My favorite thing to photograph is "Nouns." If it's rusty, beautiful, has curves that stops traffic, bright colors, or clouded in fog, and everything in between, you'll probably find me photographing it.
My Photography Equipment:
Everything from Large Format to digital, lighting is "Whitelightning," PC w/Photoshop using CS6 and mega plug-ins. I'm pretty much a Canon shooter with two DSLR's and a few lenses, sorry no "L" lenses yet.

Graffiti is it copyrighted when it's done illegally?

Posted on September 4, 2014 at 1:55pm 7 Comments

Graffiti is world wide, it's in every city in one form or another. Some is outstandingly gorgeous while others are sick and disgusting. My quest and query here is to engage in conversation with others the rights of graffiti producers under the copyright issue and my photographing the graffiti and selling it as a collective - hence not as just one image. An example would be in a book or even as a magazine article. I fully comprehend that they (the artists) own the copyright but since the…

Snapshot Vs Photograph

"I Love Photography" A Painters Perspective

Posted on December 22, 2012 at 9:15am 2 Comments

Hello fellow photographers,

Hot off the presses my new book on photography (from a painters perspective) has arrived. This book is not about F-stops and shutter speeds, it's about rethinking how we see - visualization. It starts with the human eye's physiology and ends with a wonderful intellectual chat on photography, with lots of information about color and seeing in the middle. This book is totally different than any other photography book you've seen before. Very few images, lots…

Hi, Bob. Thanks for looking in and the very nice comment about my Web photo. It was fun creating it ( using the black purse as a backdrop), so it would show up.

Hi Robert

Thank you so much for such nice comments.

I was reluctant to put my photos online, I am just a beginner but I wanted to see what others think of my photos, that gives me an indication if I am moving in the right directions.

Again, thanks
