Hi Samantha! You asked where my Aqua Seas photo was taken. It was captured on a private beach on A1A in Palm Beach, dahling! ;) We cycle past there often and I stopped to snap this time. Glad you liked the shot! Celebrate life, Debra
PS Your stuff is awesome!
If you decide to check out Ferndale, I would be happy to show you around. We're about a 40 minute drive south of where 299 comes into 101. There are plenty of great places to take photos as you travel north on 101. You can get a preview from my photos of Patrick's Point (just north of Trinidad); "Power", "Surf's Up," "Ocean Rainbow," and "Sea Stacks at Patrick's Point." There is also a photo of Fern Canyon, about a five mile drive off 101 and along the ocean. There is a great place between Brookings and Gold Beach, Oregon called Pistol River Beach and Meyers Creek Beach. My photos "Sunset Glow," "Sand Shadows," "Sea Stacks and Seagulls," and "Blowing Sand" came from that area. Of course, "Early Morning at the Dock," and "Early Morning Fishing in the Fog" came from Gold Beach, Oregon. My wife and I love to drive up the Oregon coast because there are so many beautiful places to sea along the way. If you took highway 36 over from Red Bluff, you would end up just south of the road to Ferndale. 36 is a beautiful drive, but is a bit curvy.
I remember reading about the pipe bomb on 299. They said traffic was stopped for six hours. We are having a lot of stormy weather today. But we expect it living on the north coast. The rain does keep everything nice and green.
Have a great weekend and a Happy Easter.
Best regards,
Dan
Ferndale is about 15 miles south of Eureka and about 5 miles west of highway 101. It's about a five and half hour drive north of San Francisco. We call it "living behind the Redwood curtain." My wife and I almost retired in Fort Bragg on highway 1, but it seemed to be windy all the time, so we bought an old Victorian house in Ferndale. We do get some stormy weather (average 40 inches of rain each year), but we also get some beautiful days, especially in September and October.
Hi Samantha, I really love your photographs! You have a great eye for composition. Living on the north coast, I am familiar with many of your subjects, but you have captured them in new and interesting ways. Also, you might want to check out the Olympus DSLR users group.
Best regards,
Dan
Really like your newest photos. Seems your composition is improving with time to the point reaching the wow factor. Nice edits. Particularly like the scenery shots of late.

CameraClickr, I purchased CS5 for about $800. What type of a student do you have to be to get this discount? I'm currently enrolled in School, does that count?
So many things make me happy, hard to choose just two but I would have to say that traveling is a big one for me.
