- About Me and My Photography Experience:
- I started with a Canon AE1 circa 1985, a gift from my father in law who could no longer focus the beast. I'm grateful for that because I loved the way you had to really learn an old school camera. You had to set your F stop, your ISO.... I moved to a Nikon with autofocus and I thought I was in heaven! I spent several years as a freelance photographer, taking family portraits, working for schools and submitting photos to magazines. I enjoyed it and was successful but the times they were a changing. Digital arrived. It was going to be a huge investment to upgrade all my equipment and I wasn't in the position to do that. So I bought a decent point and shoot digital camera, focused on family (literally) and enjoyed it for quite a few years. But in the last year I've yearned to get back into creative photography. I want to feel the elation and satisfaction of a good photo again. Not that I don't have many "good" photos, but I mean good for the soul good! I'm excited about this group and I hope to learn a lot as I embark and another exciting chapter of my photography life.

Is it safe to say that AF-S 55-200mm f4-5.6G IF-ED DX VR enough for events such as weddings, birthdays and portraiture? There are reviews that the 55-300mm has problem in focusing at 300mm focal length."
