"That's a honey of a shot. How did you get it? Talk about right place, right time. The black n white is a nice touch. The brick detail I like. Well done..."

"If the point of the shot is the insect, could you bring it in closer. As it is right now, the yellow washes out the shot. I like Rob's idea, I would slide the subject closer to one of the sides. I think with a macro shot, the yellow would be…"

"Did you get any of this shot bracketed? Sometimes a variation one f stop away cinches the shot. I agree with the ISO tweak might be spiff."

"I like the idea of framing the sun with the grass. I am thinking back to when I took the shot and upon reflection don't recall a point. I hate when I don't have a story in mind when I take a shot."

"First I like the color of the clouds, sky, etc. The problem here is the out of focus blades of grass in the foreground that rob the image and focal point. I would rather see one to three grass head(s) singled out against the sky and the sun very low…"

"Upon further review...not sure that the angle is it. Don't want to lose too much of the water, I guess I am just looking for something for my eye to be drawn to but not sure what. I need help with this great bit of helping I'm doing. :)"

"Nice shot, I agree with the statement below. A variation on the shot might be changing the angle of the flowers trailing off towards a corner, but it is a nice shot as is. I like your depth of field, suggest a good story."

"Nice image but significant jpeg clipping...did you shoot it in jpeg? Besides the limitations on dynamic range, it's lacking a tad on composition, I would have tried to get even lower and shot at a greater angle to get the horizon down closer to…"

"The trees don't do much for me either. I think a little grain with the keys would be a nice affect. I like the layout of the keys."

Profile Information

About Me and My Photography Experience:
I started snapping pix when I was about 8 years old with an old Brownie half frame. My Dad taught photography so I hung around. I graduated to a Minolta 700 SLR in my 20's. I have only resumed the hobby within the last four years and seriously within the last 6 months. I enjoy patterns and unique perspective shots. I have always known the best light was around dusk and dawn but only recently found the official term of "Golden Hour". I jumped to digital within the last 4 years from SLR film. I am still getting the hang of digital's endless (virtually) photo capacity.
My Photography Equipment:
Nikon D-90 chassis, Nikon AF-S Micro 60mm, Nikon NIKKOR 55-200mm, NIKKOR 18-55mm, Bogon 055XDB tripod w/ Bogon 410 head.

"Hi Guys, Is it safe to say that AF-S 55-200mm f4-5.6G IF-ED DX VR enough for events such as weddings, birthdays and portraiture?  There are reviews that the 55-300mm has problem in focusing at 300mm focal length."
