If you are doing long exposures and your cam is on a tripod, you might also want to think about turning off your vr/is/os off...sometimes it can blur an image. What exactly are you shooting? Is it something that is standing still or…

What you could do is make a back up file and copy and paste the latest edit as a new layer on your back up file.
