About Me and My Photography Experience:
I have been an amateur photographer for about 7 years. I belong to 2 photo clubs, one in Canada and one in the U.S. I do all types of photography but love nature and macro . I spend the summer in Canada and the winter in south Texas.
My Photography Equipment:
At present I have a Canon T2i, but will be upgrading to a 60D. I have a 19-35 w/a Tamron, Sigma 150 Macro, Sigma 18-250, Sigma 150-500 and Canon 50 1.8. Also an old Canon 70-300 which I still use occasionally. Also I borrow my husband's 450D!

What a good eye you have and a nice selection here that show your talent.  i was drawn to your page by your comments and skills around merging images on the discussion pages.  Some of your images there are just so lovely in their conception and execution.  I think I am officially one of your fans.  You've certainly been an inspiration.  I'm off to try and learn how to use my PSE merge function. Thanks Sharon!

You're right about that, life is too short not to be happy. I love life and that is why I love photography. Photography captures life in many ways. You take the fork and I'll take the spoon and we'll continue to enjoy.  :)

Sharon, your  kind words are  like music to my ears. I work very hard at making  up for not having a good camera or knowledge of editing software yet. I guess if you are going to learn  from me it will have to be getting into  my brain. Ha ha. When you learn something  let me  know.  And let me know if  you  find a word for the description  of some of my work as  sort of abstract, but not.

Hi Sharon.

I stopped accidentally inyour discussion on merging, and  decided to make some comments:

1- I prefer to enhance textures by overdoing the tones map, rather than make a multiply blend, in order to have a better control of the histogram extremes, especially in order to avoid burning blacks.

2- Do not know whether you wanted the merge to promote the flower, or to dilute it, which apparently was yor purpose.

If this is the case it's ok. If not, you will have to do some masking excercise to bring the flower up.

I dared to use your photos to work out this two.

This is the texture layer

And this is the result.
