karlum lattimore said… What a good eye you have and a nice selection here that show your talent. i was drawn to your page by your comments and skills around merging images on the discussion pages. Some of your images there are just so lovely in their conception and execution. I think I am officially one of your fans. You've certainly been an inspiration. I'm off to try and learn how to use my PSE merge function. Thanks Sharon!

I guess if you are going to learn from me it will have to be getting into my brain. Ha ha. When you learn something let me know. And let me know if you find a word for the description of some of my work as sort of abstract, but not.
So wonderful to add another talented, creative and interesting person to my list of friends.
Rafael Fajardo said… Hi Sharon.
I stopped accidentally inyour discussion on merging, and decided to make some comments:
1- I prefer to enhance textures by overdoing the tones map, rather than make a multiply blend, in order to have a better control of the histogram extremes, especially in order to avoid burning blacks.
2- Do not know whether you wanted the merge to promote the flower, or to dilute it, which apparently was yor purpose.
If this is the case it's ok. If not, you will have to do some masking excercise to bring the flower up.
I dared to use your photos to work out this two.
This is the texture layer
And this is the result.
