I was researching Canon Cameras with interest towards full frame sensors and I wanted to know what cameras have this.  I have a new Canon EOS 7D that I bought in February.  It's a wonderful camera…Continue

I just wonder, that if you are renting, why not rent the Canon lens you seem most interested in?  I try to stay with Canon lenses for my camera, mostly for the E-TTL advantages.  Most of the less expensive lens providers obtain their…

I understand.  I tend to shoot old barns and any building that may fall down soon, within the next two to three years and then I do many portraits.  I shoot sunsets but the lenses I have work fine for what I want to see.  I was a…

I've been looking at the new 8-16 F4L Fisheye myself. I shoot mostly landscapes so the wider the better.

And oh yes, do spend your money on lenses; I really like the 70-200 mm, f/2.8 IS lens but they aren't giving them out, so if you like that lens, it's a great one but often around $2,300.00.  There are several places where you can rent…

Jared, there will be those who will say to that they can see differences in the image between the 7D and the 5D because of the full frame sensor, but again, some commercial entities require a full frame sensor but I would bet a Wookie that 99% of us…

I think the 7D might be the better choice for me then. I have read a lot about both cameras but no one has ever said which camera actually produces the better image. But seeing as how there's no difference I will defiantly go with the…

Jared, I have had my 7D more than a year and I've made many photographs with it.  I wanted the 5D Mark II to have a full frame sensor.  Other than the full frame, I have not found a lot of difference.  There certainly is not any…

So I need some advice and you might be the right person to talk to since you own both camera models that I am interested in. Im torn between the 7 and 5D. From your personal experience, is the 5D worth the extra money if I am 1) only looking to own…

I don't have a T2i but I have both a Canon EOS 7D and an EOS 5D Mark II.  Three is all I can take with those cameras.  Why would you want to take more?  That's what a bracket is: One lower, one higher and one on the…

What Cannon camera are you using?  I did not see the camera model mentioned in your message.  I have a Canon 7D and now a 5D Mark II (full size image).  I have used the kit lens 28-135 on the 7D.  The 5D has a suggested kit lens…

About Me and My Photography Experience:
I bought my first camera, a Leica M3, at 17 in Hong Kong when I was in the US Navy. I taught myself from magazines, books and my experience which means many errors. In 1982 I began using Minolta cameras and in 2000 bought a Canon Rebel G (film) I have been using mostly digital since 2004.

My profile photograph is a combination. First, the wall behind me in the photograph is the entry side to Pawhuska High School, Pawhuska, Oklahoma. The letters were originally just burnished aluminum but our school colors were and are black and orange. I used Photoshop CS 2 to hand color the letters to black and orange, then saved the photograph of the wall. The photograph of me in the blue shirt was shot in the woods at Osage Hills State Park between Pawhuska and Bartlesville by my wife using… Continue

Thanks so much for your help. I have a Canon 7D and a Rebel XT. I totally  appreciate your input. I just want to make sure its really worth the money because it is pricey. But hearing all of this truly helps me make up my mind about it. I definitely do not want to botch anyone's wedding, and ultimately that's why I asked. So thank you again.

From your personal experience, is the 5D worth the extra money if I am 1) only looking to own one camera body and 2) shooting only landscapes. I've read the specs on both but that doesn't compare to personal experience. Thanks!
