These birds forage for food in fields, mudflats, and shores, usually by sight. They mainly eat insects.

It is great when I can get a bird like this to focus on something else besides me so that I can get close.

At one time, the beautiful plumes of the Snowy Egret were in great demand by market hunters as decorations for women’s hats. This reduced the population of the species to dangerously low levels.
Now it is protected by law, under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, this bird’s population has rebounded.

I saw this Whitetail Doe and Fawn last Sunday at No Name Lake (Fort Smith, Arkansas). They stayed at the lakes edge for about an hour feeding.

I was watching a Great Blue Heron when I noticed this Barred Owl watching something in a field. This was late in the morning and I rarely see one this time of day. The last photo shows how bright the sun was. It moved around to different trees but stayed in the general area.

Sure easy to say go get it, but I have a wife who does not understand to contend with. ;)
You are going to have to let me know what you think of the new lens. I have been thinking about getting that one next.

I like the design of your page. Did you use the advanced feature or can anyone change the boxes? Anyway, I'm just sending you a note to say hi and introduce myself. Seems like I could sure learn a lot from you. When I saw your profile photo and looked at some of your pictures, I knew we had to be friends.
I'm new to this network. I'm a 61 year old Digital Collage Artist and Remembrance Consultant. I'm married to a great guy (Tark), have 3 stepkids and 4 grandkids.. I'm a NUT when it comes to animals--I'm quite an animal activist.
I'm learning to take my own pictures so I can make my own unusual collages rather than my clients. I belong to quite a few Social Networks, but this network is ideal for me.
I'm looking forward to learning more about you and hope we can share thoughts, ideas and resources. Please let me know anything you'd like me to know about you!
Here's a sample of my collages so you get the idea of what I do.

What lens did you use on that fantastic Grasshopper photo?
