Hey Steve, I know you were laid off, was hoping you found something by now. Things have been crazy here. Dealing with college applications for my son, & not looking into grants & scholarships....;( I hate this stuff. Everything is too confusing for me.

You know that's the ferris wheel at Navy Pier right? LOL ... I left this comment for myself first ... I swear I will figure out the inner workings of this site yet!
What a very nice Valentine treat! Thank you for all your wonderful comments. I have to remember to thank Keith for directing me here. I love Picture Social. It's such a great environment of like minds expressing their creativity in a fashion that I truly understand. Thanks for being a part of my little world!
It takes a little while to get your client base, and to get your studio name out but then it has a snowball effect and you will have a long waiting list and scheduling shootings many months in advance. Definitely check out those seminars.
Hi Steve, I would LOVE to tell you all about opening a portrait photography business. The world of photography is one of the worst professions you can find. The average salary has been declining yearly for many years. That is why you need to know exactly what you are doing business-wise. The best thing I ever did is take the seminars at UR Life from Master's Touch in Canada. You need to have a niche, a target audience, a marketing plan, etc, etc. Studies show that photographer's salaries is in no way related to their skills and talents, it is correlated purely to their marketing savvy. That is why you can't trust your good photos to give you a fair earning.
CameraClickr, I purchased CS5 for about $800. What type of a student do you have to be to get this discount? I'm currently enrolled in School, does that count?
So many things make me happy, hard to choose just two but I would have to say that traveling is a big one for me.
