I enjoy amateur photography very much. I consider myself a
"serious novice" with lots to learn. I think seeing other people's photos can be a great learning tool by studying angles of shots, colors, and subject matter, and hope it will help me to further develope (no pun intended) my own style. I feel that "picturesocial" will be another asset to that end.
I started playing with photography many years ago using my brother's dark room and equipment. I did a fair amount of black and white film & print processing. I then started shooting a lot of slides and learned a great deal from entering local photo contests. Through practice, I won several ribbons and caught the "photo bug" with no cure in sight. I learn something new all of the time and find that I still make careless or stupid mistakes.
Although the basics are the same, digital has been a new ball game for me, as I am sure for most people. Not so much the camera or shooting, but in the editing and storing.
While I like being able to make minor adjustments to a photo with software, I don't care for "over-doing" it. My personal opinion is that too much "adjusting and enhancing" (photoshop) takes away from the art of getting a good shot with the camera by itself.
As mentioned above, I am here to learn, and expect my photos to be critiqued. Negative criticism is readily accepted as long as it is constructive. Thank you.
Oh my goodness... your photographs are gorgeous. I think #15 is my favorite. Or #24. Haha. I really enjoyed viewing your pictures. I love forward to seeing more.
This group is for discussion of the Canon digital & 35mm camera systems and other topics of interest to Canon users. In other words... ALL THINGS CANON.
Thoughtful collection of work. Your eye is keen, your sense of composition sharp and your skill evident in each one posted. Welcome to site. I look forward to watching the changes within your collection.
