I do not get a reasonably clear background at HD distance. Can somebody tell me why please. I used the 18-105mm kit lens on the D7000Very warm regards from MautiusTiberman Sajiwan Ramyead Continue

"Full size on my monitior the far shore and the mast is out of focus. You really need to use a smaller aperure, say f/16 to increase the depth of field. You could use 200 ISO which would have no effect on the results and would keep the shutter speed…"

18th century anchorage point - Souillac village, extreme south of Mauritius

If you open my heart you'll find Souillac written inside - my birthplace. The anchorage point is at the hyperfocal distance; f/8.0, 18mm, certre weighted, -0.7 exposure, bean bag, AE-AF lock and recompose. I lay flat on wet rocks, to say the least.…

Hi Tiberman, I read your comment on my article. Thank you so much for all your wonderful compliments. Of course you are welcome to quote me. I would love to know what portions you end up using.  I took a look at some of your photos and you have some very nice shots.  :)  -Tien

No problem Tiberman :-) Moon shots you mean? Bring your longest lens, if you have tele converter then use that. Set your camera to manual mode (M) then set the shutter speed to a number higher than the effective length of your lens. Spot or center weighted metering usually work best. I usually do f5.6 with ISO 400 and 1/640-ish seconds. Adjust your ISO until satisfactory then you'll have no problem ;-)

Tiberman

Welcome to PictureSocial

I use Nikon Capture NX2 and it is great. You can download the latest version from your Local Nikon site.
To use it, I have created a discussion group on this site, on there is some basic ideas on how to use it.

Now you mentioned Lightroom, version three is great as well, again you can download a trial version from your adobe site.
Any more info, get in touch
