Any DX lens over 35mm is useable. What you loose is your wide angles. Below 35mm on DX you will get vingetting around the frame. So to switch from D300 or D90 or any DX camera to an FX camera you need to purchase a lens which is not DX. An old…

The first question to ask is why do you want to upgrade from the D90? What aspects of the D90 are you dissatisfied with?

The D90 is an excellent camera for low noise. If you are getting noise please explain the settings you have on the camera that produces the noise.
Noise only appears if the camera is set up wrong, the exposure has to be spot on.
