Yes I have been to the Painted Hills many times and highly recommend it as a two day adventure - it's all about the light. The Painted Hills and the surrounding area is a plethora of camera ready images, hence very photogenic. You will need a variety of lenses, a very sturdy (heavy) tripod, extra durable hiking boots, and a lot of patience. I do workshops there about once every two years and I'm considering one this year in late summer or early Fall.
In the slide show that runs on your page, number 22 is absolutely awesome. Might even say it's a show stopper.
Keep the camera clicking, the eye keen, and get out doors and photograph the world.
