"Since you're using two lights, set the main light to the left and a bit behind the the subject thereby casting the shadow towards the camera (this is your meter reading light) and bring it in close to the subject - just out of camera view, then…"

Portrait Criticism, Portrait

Basically, this was taken during a mock studio shoot last month.  Actually taken in a local Dance Studio with two cheap flash heads with small soft boxes as the only available lighting.  I've done a little bit of editing, increased sharpness a touch (5% or so), slight adjustment on white/black points, but nothing too major.Just looking for a little input on what I could do (besides using more of a professional studio setup) with possible future, similar shoots.…See More

About Me and My Photography Experience:
One of my favourite aspects of photography is how limitless the possibilities become. I am always finding new areas of photography to explore and different ways of looking at capturing an image. Photography became a strong interest shortly after I was given my first digital camera.

I've been experimenting with running a page on Facebook for quite some time and come to one simple conclusion.  Unless you are someone who has hundreds of "friends" on Facebook, rather than someone who only keeps in contact with those who are truly part of your life, it all becomes very slow to get noticed.  Things have to be shared and liked countless times before many people who are not on your main accounts page…
