Gina this was taken on the floor of a rainforest where there was plenty of shade. ISO 100, f3.5 shutter speed 1/800. Tamron macro lens on my Nikon D300. I have no trouble getting even higher speeds.
i'm set up correctly and so is lens. it just seems i should be getting faster shutter speeds with a 2.8 lens. i don't like using auto iso. i shoot manual. there is no ec set, etc. just seems like it should be more sensitive. i always felt that from…
I would first check your lens. On the Aperture ring make sure that it is set so you have 22 lined up with a white line and the lock switch is "locked".
Also make sure you do not have the Exposure set for +2 or +3, it should normally be at 0
