Yes, it does make sense, but is it appropriate to have both background and subject high key? Another question does the background have to be white, in order to qualify as high key?
I would like to know more about high key photography. I thought it involved very high exposure to the point of almost looking blown out. This photo is absolutely gorgeous but has confused me as to what high key photography is.
You do need quite a bit more contrast in the B&W portion. As you eluded to, you have no real blacks or whites in the shot.

selective coloring is not very popular. In addition, my black and white looks rather grayscale, I tried for a sharp B and W. I know it doesn't meet the rule of thirds, but the way the flower and the lake are framed by the mountains seemed to over-rule that rule, LOL.See More
