The diaper on the couch, in the seventh photo is very distracting, Otherwise it is beautiful.

Yes, it does make sense, but is it appropriate to have both background and subject high key? Another question does the background have to be white, in order to qualify as high key?

I would like to know more about high key photography. I thought it involved very high exposure to the point of almost looking blown out. This photo is absolutely gorgeous but has confused me as to what high key photography is.

You do need quite a bit more contrast in the B&W portion. As you eluded to, you have no real blacks or whites in the shot. Also (IMHO) the amount of selective coloring you provided doesn't do anything--except leave me wanting more. I…

The black and white is VERY dull and out of focus. You can't sharpen the rest of the flower in the foreground?

selective coloring is not very popular. In addition, my black and white looks rather grayscale, I tried for a sharp B and W. I know it doesn't meet the rule of thirds, but the way the flower and the lake are framed by the mountains seemed to over-rule that rule, LOL.See More

It is spooky. I would work on the sky. Rachel's on the right track. Keep the color, though. Straighten the house a little. It looks like the tree limbs got cut out from the sky at the turret??

I think the tree on the right is quite dominant and seems it is pushing the house away; this is made more significant with the house slightly tilted in the picture. It may look better with the house framed upright and then including more of the…

Mary what a fanastic subject. This would be a place I would be going back to. I do think a bit more contrast would work and also the sky is not right. I did a little in PS as I immediately thought haunded house. Hope you like it.

I do think that you need something to draw you eye. The colours are wonderful but as I said I think either closer or a wider shot should work better.

Does every picture have to have a focal point? As to what I was trying to show, a ;ittlr piece of my neighborhood, one that I find very pretty.

Hi Mary, I love the colour of the leafs but unfortunately that is about it. I find there is not focual point fo me. The tree branches are not adding anything. In my opion either show the whole tree of do a micro of the leafs. My question is what are…
