This is a nice capture !! The compo is awesome. Maybe the light would be adjustable with curves in lab mode ?

The e3 is a exccelente camera, which can be excellent ZUIKO. The dynamic range is perhaps a little worse than the Nikon D700, although tall light well, do not ever disappoint. The picture that I went to the e3 is because I have not measured either...

New Camera...

Well, there comes a time in every photographer's life when you say to yourself..."Self...we need better equipment!".

I am no exception to this, and as such have just purchased a Nikon D300 with the MD-10 grip, SB600 flash, 18 - 200mm and 50mm 1.4 lenses. I have another shoot tomorrow night, and I just got back to Oklahoma last night from a weekend event shoot for the television show "Two Wheel Oklahoma".

It was a great rally, but I dropped my motorcycle at one point and was bummed about it. I… Continue

Update: Garage Studio Setup

Well, it is up and running (though I found my DIY softbox is too weak even with a 300 watt buld and a single layer of rip stop nylon for diffusion). The reflector / bogen lights that I have work great. I mounted a 12' rod with a king size, pure white, sheet as the backdrop.

I have resigned myself to going and picking up a built set of softboxes. I would also like to pickup some umbrellas and new strobes. If anyone has suggestions on the brand of lights, speak now, or forever hold your peace. =D… Continue

Model - Broken Home Shoot

Hey all...

Met up with the model for the broken home shoot tonight. Though I thought she had the goth wear needed for the shoot, I was mistaken. I am going to need to provide the clothing and props as anticipated. I am meeting the model next Friday evening to begin the shopping extravaganza.

I am very excited, as I spoke with the model and realized that she is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I need to make sure that my makeup artist is up to par for the shoot, but other than that,… Continue

Broken home shoot

I have been wanting to do an expressionistic photo shoot for a really long time now.

I have had these visions (maybe not the best choice of words) about a weeping, allbeit goth, mother with her spiffed up child comforting her in a delapedated environment. I explained my desire and the whole getup to a friend tonight, and one of his best friends is willing to model for me, and have either her son or daughter model as well.

I am VERY excited about this, as I have admired her beauty for a long ti… Continue

Baby-steps: Garage

Hello again sports fans....

Well, there comes a time in a man's life when he just has to say:

whatthehellIdidntthinkthegaragewasthisdirty!

Yeah, so I spent the first day of my new year gutting, errrrm, I mean cleaning, my garage. My intention is to treat and paint the concrete, redo the walls, setup backdrops and vualah...my very own portrait studio. =D

I got rid of so much useless stuff it wasn't even funny. I took my tripods, lights, reflectors, and newly constructed softbox out for… Continue

Nice collection here ! I specially like your architectural shots, very cool !

for the "storm bulb", the color green is oversaturated and overcontrasted but is it's true color. The pattern is not created. It's the interior of a 70's lamp that you can see from a different angle in "green planet".

I am not that brave to set up on the roof top! I give you credit though. The lightning here in Florida is very low and dangerous so I have to get it as it approaches. But I am determined! This was me filming a storm. (http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=IqmADEOknf0&feature=channel_page) It amazes me. The outdoors amazes me! I will be looking for your pictures.

Great lighting as always ;-)
I wouldn't do a wedding for all the money there is. But I can show you how to do this in an hour. Easy.
