I might suggest you get a mega-zoom camera. It would give you the opportunity to experiment with many focal lengths without having to purchase a number of lenses to find what fits your style of shooting. I have been using the Sony H5 which is a mega-zoom and the Sony R1 which has a 24 to 135mm manual zoom lens. The R1 is an absolutely fantastic camera with a 'C' size sensor and what is arguably the best lens ever put on a fixed lens camera. I have gotten one off Ebay for $450 and will never look back. Your posted work is truly exceptional for a beginning photographer.
Hello Mish,
Thanks for your comment of my 'yellow' image.
Just added a few more to this site and my flickr site, but since I was on different computers, I've added different photos, hope people like them too.
Wow, this is a bright and colorful page theme you've got here. I might have to re-think mine.
Thanks Mish
Shot was taken as follows Canon Eos 1ds Mk III body set on flat settings 16 - 35 mm EF 2.8 lens set at 16 mmm ,iso 250 f22 250 sec shot 2.33 stops under overall metering and pushed 2 stops from raw in process .6 lee soft grad ND filter to the top and inverted .3 soft grad ND filter to bottom in lee foundation slider in CS3 Curves adjusted mid range adjustment in shadow and highlight 20% black removed from whites and 35 % black added to blacks in selective colour saturation boosted by 20 % 255 unsharp mask
These are not standard ajusts I treat every shot individually Guess Its just down to Practice !! lol
Cheers David
Both are very fine cameras, I've got the D40 and the Rebel. Difficult to chose between them. For the choice of lenses I would chose the Canon, but it is a close call between the both of them.
Thanks Mish prefer this one myself
