Papa, this morning I tried to rub the contacts again with an eraser without any improvement. I was involved with cable contacts when I was still working, so I thought there would be no problem cleaning the contacts with methylated spirit. No improvement. I thought of changing my 14-21mm lens to 40-150mm lens and the camera worked! I don't know how long it will be ok though. Thank you very much for helping me out. I hope you wouldn't mind if I come up with more call for help in the future.

Regards Anthony

I did as you told me to do but no improvement. The thing just did auto focussing and never let the shutter work. Do you think if I use spirit to clean the contacts? Thanks.

I am sure you have not forgotten Olympus. I took up photography as my past time recently and learning little by little. My E-410 used to work well but recently at times  when viewing through the viewfinder to shoot it doesn't let me shoot and I can't see the view. Worse when I press the shutter it wouldn't work. Could you tell me the remedy? I can't find the remedy in its user manual. Thank you very much.

"It wouldn't be my choice either, but it does have an "Old Masters" feel to it.  Printed very large, it could hang with a lot of similar images at the Art Gallery of Ontario. "

"Printing won't guarantee longevity.  Lots of commercial prints from the '60s and '70s have faded and discoloured.  Some of the current pigment inks are claimed to last 100 to 200 years depending on the paper used and storage…"

“What Are The Best Settings For My Camera?”

Posted on November 23, 2012 at 1:37pm 1 Comment

I cringe every time I hear that question. But, if you are asking it, here is the simple answer.. OFF. Well, at least until you have had a chance to take a class or read enough online information to realize that there is nobody who can answer that question without more information than “I just bought my first DSLR and want to know – what are the best settings for my camera?”

When you leave out composition, which has nothing to do with camera settings, photography is about light. How…
