5 Reasons to be Positive in January!

Last Monday was Blue Monday. Supposedly, the third Monday in January is the most depressing day in the entire year. Whether you believe this or not, it's not hard to see why January is a depressing month. Christmas and all its associated festivities are over. The reality of how much one ate and how little one should now eat are dawning. The…

I need something to shoot!!

I have been practicing as much as I can with my Canon DSLR. I love this camera, but I feel like I never have anything interesting to shoot. Everyday I want to photograph something and I can't. Scenery is always the same, I have a lot of friends who aren't very photogenic.

Can anyone out there recommend a project for fun to shoot?

Source of Inspiration

I have been actively taking photos since last October.  I am already on my second camera, upgrading from a Rebel XT to a 7D, and have a decent variety of excellent lenses.  I have given myself the tools, have removed as many physical road blocks to my creativity as possible in an attempt to reduce the limitations of my vision via inadequate equipment..

I am.. learning.  I am growing.  I have always been a visual artist, graphite being my medium of choice. Now it is digital, a…

Forsaken (Lifeforce part 1)

("Lifeforce" by poligraf)

« Lifeforce » is the story of a personal catastrophe, an individual end of the world, beginning from a state of inspiration and hyperactivity, through doubt, destabilization, failure, consternation,…

Where do you find your inspiration?

My answer comes easily to this question. My father grew up taking pictures in those dark days when cameras held film rolls and not memory cards. He rediscovered his passion in the last several years and his photography has expanded at an incredible rate. His work at never fails to inspire me and to remind me how beautiful shots are all around us if we're simply able to look (and find the right settings).…

Music and Spiritual Practice - An Overview of Poligraf (part 4)

(The Wheel of Becoming - Symbolic Representation of Saṃsāra in Tibetan Buddhism)

Poligraf's first album is entitled "Samsara." Traditionally, the term refers to the Buddhist concept of the cycle of birth and death in which all beings in the universe take part and which can be escaped only through enlightenment. Personally, I agree with the view that it is rather that very same process of… Continue

Music and Spiritual Practice - An Overview of Poligraf (part 2)

(Buddha the Conqueror by Nicholas Roerich)

Buddhism has been an essential part of my life since the mid-90s.

The adventure began when I stumbled upon a feature in an encyclopedic dictionary that highlighted the Four Noble Truths. That finding immediately sparked my curiosity and a few days later I was buying a copy… Continue

Music and Spiritual Practice - An Overview of Poligraf (part 1)

Music has been an essential part of my life since the end of the 80s.

The adventure began during the second of my four years of studying electrical engineering at Université Laval in Québec City. Through various friends and contacts I reconnected with progressive rock, a form of music to which I had already been exposed to in my youth thanks to my older brothers and sisters. Hearing the music of bands such as Yes, Rush, Genesis, and King… Continue
