I have not been on here for quite some time. My life all of a sudden caught up with me! I have not had much time for photography these days. Even though I was busying myself with photography related things as well as family and a 3 week trip to Italy which was awesome, I haven't used my camera much.
While I was in Italy for 3 weeks I did get the chance to take lots of shots. It was amazing, but I find it incredible how I tote that heavy camera and equipment around on my small frame and still managed to forget to take pictures!
At the beginning of July I photographed a wedding. Something I never really wanted to do, but did it as a favor to my brother and his bride. They could not afford a real wedding photographer so asked me to do it. I accepted for 2 reasons, they are family, and we do what we can to help each other out. 2nd, I wanted just once to experience what it would be like to photograph a wedding. Let me tell you, it sure is different from photographing 3 and 5 year old kids playing or posed.....shooting weddings is somewhat like being a cat herder....always trying to get people to group, look at the camera, not stray off, smile, look somewhat alive....my group was more like zombie cats than anything! But I survived and learned that I have no desire to be a wedding photographer! So to you photogs who shoot weddings for a living, kudo's to you. You deserve to be paid well for your work!
