Good Morning Everyone!
I had a question about photos and keeping them around.
I am coming to a limit of storage on my drive that keeps all of my photos and I was looking for a way to archive them and keep them in a safe place. I have done the archiving to DVD's and putting them in a safe but I am shooting with the Canon EOS 5D now and a 32GB Compact Flash card. If I am shooting an event I will notice that the chip will get about half way full and that is about 16GB's worth of photos. That is about 4 DVD's to archive.
I was thinking of archiving to BluRay which holds about 25GB per DVD but that can get pretty costly when trying to archive about 2TB of photos.
Does anyone have any good ideas that are cost effective and safe?
Thanks for all the help!
Semper Fidelis,
Manny Perez

Comment by PRATAP MISRA on February 11, 2013 at 11:01am USB Hard Drive is always better and long lasting solution than BlueRay. Before using, please make some partition on it like your computer hard drive.

Comment by CameraClicker on February 10, 2013 at 4:52pm Sign up for a Costco membership, of find a friend who will take you to one of their stores and purchase what you want. In Canada (where things are more expensive) you can now get 3 TB Western Digital USB drives for just over CDN$100. Presumably less in the US, pick up a couple and you should be set for a while. I write to them and also to DVD.
