What a great week this past week was. Kodachrome was finally ACTUALLY retired, and I blew up like a whale in a week. Pregnancy is OK - it's nice to know that there's a person inside me and that our efforts are paying off. But, it's not all it's made out to be by the positive Polly's of the world. ROFL

Even though I haven't shot with film in nigh eight years, I think I'm more depressed about - no, I KNOW I'm more depressed about - the discontinuation of Kodachrome than the passing of Michael Jackson. >_> I'm so sick of hearing about it. Life leads to death, whether it's natural or you do it to yourself via the thousands of ways that can happen... People die. Cry and move on. All I have to say at this point is what about Farrah? And BILLY MAYS! ^_> What is happening to the celebrities of the world? They are dropping like flies all over - David Carradine, Natasha Richardson, Ed McMahon, Bea Arthur.....the list goes on and on... It's like "Death of a Salesman," only "salesman" should be replaced with "celebrity."

So, here I am at yet another photography community, with high hopes that there will be something truly, amazingly useful for me to search out and learn within it. I am tired of being bored with photography - I want my creativity and my inspiration back, though I have NO idea where it is that those things shuffled off to... Here's to hope...

PS. If you want your inspiration back go make a series of photographs that blow you away; on film. The anticipation of waiting for the film to come back from the lab is akin to Christmas!

Kodachrome is a legend. One of the greatest films of all time. RIP. I one time had client who ordered a 6x21 foot mural from a Kodachrome 25 slide. It held together amazingly well and the grain wasn't bad from a distance where you could see the entire mural.
