When my Sonic DSCW-100 finally failed I looked round for a replacement and was originally interested in a Fujiflm Finepix F70-EXR, but on handling it found it didn't suit me.
The Panasonic DMC-TZ6 was the next choice on the list and I'm glad I chose it as already in just a few days it has proved it's worth,
The auto mode is so good that you hardly need to make adjustments, but they are there should you feel so inclined.
It handles available light very well as in this church interior, shot at 1/8 second hand held f4, 400 ASA

And it takes excellent macro shots too as this available light shot of the interior of my old Seiko automatic watch

And it handles flatly lit outdoor scenes very well with a full range of tones

Nice one, Panasonic!
