Portland Harbour, Dorset

Although there's really no particular focal point to this, I rather like the overall effect - do you think it works?

The overall colour and slight haziness seem to make it feel quite tranquil - does it do that for you, or do you think it lacks subject? Here it has been straightened-up, and I agree it looks better for it.

Comment by David Fisher on November 23, 2012 at 12:46am: Yes CC, I thought that but when I moved it the tilt looked the opposite way - something to do with the Portland headland, I think. In the end I opted to leave as is but maybe a compromise would be better - I'll have a look. On reflection, maybe the picture fails - I think I like it because I know the subject (an ancient Naval harbour and prison site), rather than it being a good subject. Thanks for commenting.
