Although there's really no particular focal point to this, I rather like the overall effect - do you think it works?

Hmmm - I think it's just the peacefulness of the scene, rather than anything else. The overall colour and slight haziness seem to make it feel quite tranquil - does it do that for you, or do you think it lacks subject? Here it has been straightened-up, and I agree it looks better for it.

I too think that the horizon should have been leveled.  To answer your question. . ."do you think it works?" my answer would be a question back to you.  What are you trying to convey to the viewer?

Yes CC, I thought that but when I moved it the tilt looked the opposite way - something to do with the Portland headland, I think. In the end I opted to leave as is but maybe a compromise would be better - I'll have a look. On reflection, maybe the picture fails - I think I like it because I know the subject (an ancient Naval harbour and prison site), rather than it being a good subject. Thanks for commenting.

It may be accurate but it feels tilted, low on the left.  Other than that, I think it's alright.
