I have figured that I must be one really good girl. Last year for Christmas, Santa brought me my first DSLR, a Canon EOS 40D which came with a kit lens, a 17-85mm IS USM lens. Not too shabby I say!
In the course of a year I have become even more addicted to photography, focusing on trying to understand the technical aspect of the art (but no closer to understanding). I also acquired 2 other lenses and a couple filters, lens hood and Photoshop CS3 among other lesser photo editing software. So the addiction grows....
Then for this Christmas 2008, Santa surprised me with a Canon 580 EX ll Speedlite! Wow! Now all I have to do is figure out how to use the thing....not sure when, where or how for that matter on how to effectively use the flash without ruining my images. I have always prefered to shoot in natural light, but winter time keeps me indoors much more than I care for, so perhaps this is my saving grace!
I look forward to share the trials and tribulations of flash use with you all and hope that some caring person who has knowledge of lighting and flash use will take me under their wing.
Happy New Year,
Lee-Ann
