I love making images. As a child I could not express myself through art the way I wanted and a smart teacher told me to try photography so I could manipulate in the darkroom. Bam, that was all it took I actually began in a graphic arts class, moved to photography class, all the while taking art history class. I also took local college classes in photography while still in High School. After graduation I moved to Dayton Ohio and attended Ohio Institute of Photography. Two years later moved to California and worked for Sports and Schools photography. Now many moons later I manage a wholesale business and am just recently getting back into shooting for profit and not just fun. I consider myself an image maker and will use whatever tools I need to accomplish my goals but everything begins with a photograph. I am married to a wonderful woman for over 16 years now, 4 kids aged 13, 19, 7 and 7, two dogs (a Beagle and a Boxer/Pit mix, 3 cats and one fish. We spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer since the sun only sets for 4 hours a night we do love it. We hunt, fish, camp, canoe, hike etc. etc.
What Photography Equipment do you Use?
Canon cameras, Photoshop , Lightroom and Corel X with a Wacom tablet for retouching and creating my images. I have a small business of portraits and retouching with custom creations.
Hey Gene! How are you? Well I still havent tried cs4 lol I don't know, first I couldn't wait to get it and now I don't work with it... Thanks for the link! Guess I can learn a lot there :))
Oh and by the way... my cam has the function "macro" but it never works. Never! My pictures are always blurry, because it doesn't find the right point to focus on, I don't know what to do.
Hi Gene! You are right, internet is really such a great thing :)) I met already so many nice ppl online, who I don't wanna miss! Well right now, I don't ve much time for taking pics. I try to concentrate on my study and we've such bad weather that I don't wanna go outside haha But I have Photoshop now (cs 4) so I wanna learn how to use it. My problem only is, that I'vent had any kinds of photoshops before, so I don't even know basic stuff... thats kinda frustrating, cuz Photoshop seems to be very complicated... Anyway, may be I can find some helpful websites :))
It was very foggy today, but I havent been outside. I was the whole day sitting at home chatting on the internet and so on. I saw your pics, and left you a comment on some, so I dont wanna repeat myself now :)))
Egagement pictures!? Ohhh... I'm already excited :)))) Yeah Degas is cool too, I think I even painted one of his images in school (yrs ago). I was fascinated then by his Ballerinas, their so natural poses, the dynamic expression his images made, I just like his style.
Well... I'm waiting for ur pics!!!
Yea I see... I like your work (u know that ^^), I'm wondering how you made the pic "Clone of FEB2006"? Its amazing!!!
And by the way, I like Monet too :) I like his "painting"-style. But I also like Renoir - what do you think about his work?
Hey :) You reminded me with wht u ve said on a german painter (Casper David Friedrich), who I'm can't quote precise now, but he said something like... that u gotta put the image you see outside and the one you see inside yourself together. If there is no image inside of you, you shouldn't paint.
I know u r no painter hahaha bt it kinda fits though (in my opinion)
Hey Gene, thank you! What I've recognized (since I've discovered this page and saw so many images) is, that "usual" photos (even beautiful ones) start to bore one pretty fast.. I've seen now so many pics of the sky, that I'm hesitating to upload mines, because they seem kinda boring... "Perfection" is nice, but you look at it once and forget it, but photos where you have to look twice are the ones you remember! It's my opinion, but I don't wanna claim my pics are special hahaha but I'll work it out :))) But right now I've no inspiration (Im living in a boring village, we have bad weather, no time for traveling and so on) so I'm doing pics of everything, just to keep up with practising...
I see your images are very unsual and artistic - I really like that and I'm excited about your further shots and ideas :)))
