Your people photos are good, don't let anyone tell you anything different. Those posted are all involved in the process and have a 'relationship' with the photographer. They are in focus and pleasant viewing.

Welcome to Picture Social. Here you will find work of professional and amateur alike. Both do some amazing work. Everyone is eager to give advice and criticism when asked, as well as praise on your great work. There are many groups that you can join like the Canon, Nikon and Flower and Plant groups, take a look around and see where you can join and learn. Participate in areas you like and contribute so others can learn also. Comment on others work on their pages and photos. Also, take a look at the blogs and most of all, enjoy this site.

well im on minimum budget and I dont do this professionally... so this is going to sound rediculous. :) I get solid color cotton fabric (cotton reflects little light) I prefer black and white. For lighting (inside) I use my husbands old shop lights covered with tissue paper. I prefer to do it outside on my patio and make a lightbox out of the fabric. Not really professional, but you get some decent pictures :)
