About Me:
I have always loved taking pictures growing up, but have only gotten serious in the last few years. I'm only at the level of 'enthusiast' right now. I'm trying to learn more about the technical side of photography. I mostly like to take outdoor/landscape pictures, but am trying to get more experience with my portraits. My two nieces (ages 8 and 2) are fantastic models for me to practice with.

Does anyone shoot infrared?

I just ordered an infrared filter. It was a cheap $40 one, so I'm not expecting miracles. But I thought it might be fun and give a different perspective. I haven't received it yet, so I've never used one. I just hope my camera "allows" it. Any thoughts or tips?

well, i've been on this site for a little less than a week now and am loving it. thanks for the great comments! and seeing everyone else's great work is inspiring. i'm itching to get out and shoot something, but the weather is very demotivating right now. cold, rainy, and slushy. i know it's no excuse. hope everyone is having a great weekend!
