About Me:
I have been shooting since 1978 with 35mm. I switched over to digital several years ago and have enjoyed the transition. I shoot nature mostly but enjoy getting behind the lens and looking at the world around me.

been a long time

Well, I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy with work and just too tired and lazy to get out in the hot sun to take any pics. I am trying to get my butt moving but as summer moves in on Texas I find myself less inclined to go out in the heat. I'll get outside again soon, right now I have been working with portraits indoors to sharpen my skills in that department. I long to move back up north to the New York area where I am originally from (Catskills region). I miss the seasons, the weat…

A day at the zoo

We went to the Waco Zoo yesterday. The weather was beautiful. It was not too hot or cold. The exhibits were very nice. I took a ton of photos. I love the big cat exhibits so naturally I took a few GB's worth of shots. The previews looked good... until I put them on my computer. The lens I used totally crapped out on me. The shots were not up to par at all. I decided to use my 70-300mm. I am getting ready to toss it in the trash. Time to go shopping for another one .....

Another day ends

Quite a long day at work today. I intended to do so much this evening when I got home but was just to tired to even start. I was going to do some B&W portraits indoors using the light from the patio window as a source. I had it all set up in my mind for the effects. Well, so it goes, I'll try again tomorrow perhaps. During the day I work on Main battle tanks. I am a senior tech and the heat just gets a bit too much inside 70 tons of steel in Texas. Bob

and so it starts

Just got on here today. I was actually searching for some photoshop tutorials and found this site. I hope it is not like others I have been to. I truly enjoy looking at others work but at several other sites I was a member of it turned out to be a popularity contest. I am not about that. I like seeing others works and giving a comment on them. Hope I do not get disappointed...

Hello Bob, thank you so much for your kind comments. And thank you for the 'lesson' on my unbalanced horizon! Believe it or not, that's why I'm here. Please continue to give me advice. All of your work is awesome, I especially enjoyed your shots in Germany, as I was born and spent six years of my life there but have no memories. It is nice to see some part of a place where I was born. Lucky you, I wish I was going to Quadalupe this weekend! Enjoy!
